Sandtray Therapy

Introduction to Sandtray Therapy

Lisa Inman

Sandtray Therapy is effective in treating individuals of all ages. Its effectiveness is derived from the idea that people think not only in words, but in images. The use of sand and miniatures allows clients to move to a deeper therapeutic experience more quickly than they might when relying on words alone.

Sandtray Therapy allows individuals to more easily express images, emotions, perceptions, and conflicts which can then be processed. Sandtray Therapy provides a therapy experience that is active, indirect, and symbolic and is helpful for adults and children alike in exploring their inner experience and promoting healing. Sandtray is useful and effective for treating grief, anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma and other challenges and is a wonderful tool to use in facilitating personal and professional growth and learning.

Join our 1-day Intro to Sandtray professional workshop on Friday, September 27th, 2019 8am-4pm in Waconia, Minnesota at Lighthouse Counseling Ltd and learn how to effectively use Sandtray therapy with your clients.

Our Introduction to Sandtray Therapy workshop is designed to assist therapists in gaining basic skills and knowledge in the use of Sandtray Therapy through a variety of learning modalities including hands-on experience. This workshop will cover the history and neuroscience behind Sandtray Therapy, and will provide clinicians with basic clinical skills, tools and methods they need to start using this modality with clients.
