I believe there is healing power in owning and sharing our stories. We all have parts of our story that we wrestle with, hide, run from, or try to numb. Through my personal and professional experience, I have been amazed by the resiliency and strength of the human experience. I understand the courage and trust that is required to work through these parts of our stories. I feel honored when a client invites me to journey with them in their healing process through counseling. I am passionate about creating safe places for the individuals I work with. My goal as your counselor is to help you feel heard, seen, and valued.
I am passionate about working with individuals who have experienced traumatic life events, addictions, and relationship difficulties. I have experience working with adolescents and adults in a variety of settings, including intensive outpatient treatment programming, in-home skills and therapy, and outpatient mental health services. I also enjoy working with adolescents and young adults to help support them as they discover and develop their values, self-identity, and healthy relational patterns.
I received a Master of Arts in Counseling from Crown College and I also received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Youth/Social Ministry and Alcohol & Drug Counseling from Crown College. I am a Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor and I am currently working under supervision while I work towards my Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor credential. My approach to therapy is person-centered and strengths-based and I use a variety of theoretical approaches including motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, sand tray therapy, solution-focused therapy, and reality therapy.
